How to reach Tikkar Taal Morni Hills?

The distance of Tikkar Taal from Chandigarh is 50 Km, and it takes around one and a half hours to reach here because of a hilly ride. However, you may take even longer to arrive here since the journey to this Lake is via the fantastic Morni Hills. Tourists often take breaks in between to enjoy the breathtaking views of the Himalayan range from Morni Hills.

If, however, you want to take public transport to Tikkar Taal, you can opt for buses running every hour towards Morni Hills from Panchkula Bus stand.

Tikkar Taal Timings, Entry Fees, and Boating ticket price

The USP of Tikkar Taal is that it has a well-maintained park followed by the Lake. Tikkar Taal Timings are from 9 AM to 5 PM for boating, whereas the park remains open throughout the day on all seven days. The entry to the park is free, whereas the Tikkar Taal boating ticket price is 200 Rs for 30 minutes. The boats are manual paddle driven and are capable of carrying two people.

Tikkar Taal Morni Hills has a paid parking facility within the lake complex. You can park your vehicle and can get a parking slip for Rs 50. You can also park your car outside the compound for free, but it is advisable to park inside the complex for safety reasons.

Tikkar Taal is said to be divided by a hill into two lakes named Bhim Taal and Draupdi Taal. While driving, when you are on a hilltop close to the Tikkar Taal Morni Hills, you can see both the lakes divided by a hill.

While Draupdi Taal is a small lake, Bhim Taal is the bigger Lake and is popularly called Tikkar Taal. Bhim Taal or Tikkar Taal is 550 meters wide and 460 meters long, whereas Draupdi Taal is 365 meters long and wide.

The locals treat these lakes as sacred, and as per them, the two lakes are interconnected somewhere, which makes their water level almost the same.

Food Options at Tikkar Taal Morni Hills

Haryana Tourism manages Tikkar Taal Morni Hills, so there is a restaurant run by the Haryana Tourism in this complex. The food quality here is good, but the service is not up to the mark as one has to wait for long to get food after placing the order.

There are not many other food options around as the area is a village area. It is, therefore, better to bring along the eatables with you to avoid any inconveniences.

Tikkar Taal Resort rooms

Tikkar Taal complex also has rooms available for a stay which are managed by Haryana tourism. You can book the rooms online and can enjoy your time around the Lake while staying there. The reviews of the rooms and the facilities are mixed, and some people suggest booking a hotel nearby instead of staying in the Tikkar Taal Resort, especially in the rainy season.

Morni Hills is the only hill station in Haryana, and thus, Haryana Tourism is doing a lot to bring more and more tourists to this place. When you visit Tikkar Taal, you must consider visiting the following locations as well –

There are multiple routes to visit Tikkar Taal, but I would suggest you go via Morni Hills. This route is full of beautiful picturesque hills, valleys, and trees, which will make your journey awesome, to say the least. Moreover, this route is safe and broader than the other routes.

The Adventure ParkMorni Hills

Adjoining the Tikkar Taal Morni Hills is an adventure park that has a paid entry. This park has rides for the kids, camel rides, a Monster house, and a tree-top house. After a relaxing time at Tikkar Taal, you can enjoy the adventures of the adventure park.

This Morni Hills Adventure Park has an entry ticket of 50 Rs for adults and 30 Rs for kids. The Tikkar Taal adventure park is not so well maintained, but if you have kids with you, you can visit here for their enjoyment.
