Meat Stalls to be Shut on January 28th in Coimbatore ahead of Vallalar Day

Coimbatore: All butcher and meat shops have been ordered to shut their operations on January 28th as Tamil Nadu Government has agreed to observe Vallalar Day on the same date.

Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Kumaravel Pandian said that all meat shops that deal with chicken meat, mutton meat, beef and pork will be closed on 28th January as the state gears up for Vallalar Day.

He also says that 10 prominent meat markets that see the likes of Ukkadam and Singanallur meat market along with Podanur beef market and Thudiyalur meat mutton market shall also be closed on January 28th.

He also goes on to say that severe actions shall be taken against sellers violating the state order by running their operations on the said date.
